Florasis New Releases August 2023

[FLORASIS] The drool-worthy brand just dropped another palette this week - 03 Soaring Sunlight. This is the third palette of this series.

It comes in six shades and is made of finely milled jade nephrite and silk protein powder for a soft matte finish and 24-hour oil control. It also contains Blackcurrant and raspberry leaves polyphenols to protect against oxidative stress, white water lily for moisture retention and X-COAT technology for improved staying powder, moisture retention, and transfer resistance.

Launched the week before: The Botanical Hydra-Soothe Balancing Cleansing Oil

The vegan cleansing oil contains seven floral extracts, non-comedogenic oils (jojoba, olive and plant-derived squalane) and and 97% pure C13-14 Alkane. This is their first oil cleanser, while they do have a cleansing cream and makeup removing wipes.

Musings

Florasis has always been eye candy to me. I'm not a huge makeup person and when I do by makeup, it's mostly functional: I get by on my giant ColourPop eye palette that will probably last me until I die. I just really love the color story of Florasis' previous palettes and got thisclose to getting the 02 nude palette. But I've heard that despite the beautiful IG pictures, the packaging is actually pretty clunky?

The color story of the Soaring Sunlight...I do love the orange of the blush but that bright pink is throwing me off. Actually that entire left side is definitely for someone who has lighter skin than me. It kind of feels like they're trying to catch the Barbie wave tbh 😬 I'm also a little upset they didn't continue the "[something] Brown" naming scheme, but I guess brown can only go so far.

Glad to see they're expanding their line and possibly dipping their toes into skincare? Makeup removing products make a lot of sense for a makeup brand but uh...somehow their cleansing oil defies logic and has a pH of 5.94🤨
