[Review] Decorte Lipsome Advanced Repair Eye Serum & Stratia Lipid Gold Eye Cream

Skincare for the eyes has been a bit of an unsatisfactory journey for me. In my early 20s, I was told by some L'Occataine associate that their eye serum (cream?) was special because the eye area was so delicate and eye-specific products are made to penetrate that delicate area without clogging it. True? Who knows. At the time, I had what I thought were normal "aging" lines, and after using the Kiehls avocado eye cream and the lines getting worse, I turned to one of the Kiehls associates for advice. She was dumbstruck: "it's our most moisturizing eye cream."

I'm just going to look "old", I guess, at the age of 20. So I gave up on caring, and the lines got better. Which lead me to believe eye-specific products were some fluke of marketing. I proceeded to just use whatever skincare routine I was cobbling together up the eye area before and after I found AB, and the lines did get a bit better when I started a hydrating AB routine, which led me to believe the area was just dehydrated.

Further in my journey, I learned that different products have different age targets, so while someone in their 20s could likely get by on using their normal face routine for the eye area, we generally get dryer as we get older, and well, the eye area is going to need more attention. So I have been mentally prepping myself that I'll return to them. I held off until late last year, when the natural lines under my eyes were getting a little bit longer. I went into prevention mode.

Before I get to the reviews, I do want to say that in addition to moving, my concern toward skincare has lessened and I'm less regimented about my skincare routine as a whole, including my collagen drink consumption. I still do an AM and PM routine, but there's less aim toward maximizing results and just using enough to keep my skin feeling happy. I also really want to pan some products I don't want to have around anymore.

Maybe I'm a happier person so I have other things to nitpick about, maybe the smaller mirror in my new bathroom helps me step away more easily, maybe I've just given in to aging and time has won. Whatever the case, I'm therefore also not very regular with the eye products, possibly 2-3 times a week for each of them between morning and night use. I really just expect them to help me out when my eyes are looking extra tired, so keep in mind that may add to my lackluster results from both of them.

Skin profile: NW25, anti/well-aging, dehydrated normal to dry

I've been curious about the Decorte Liposome Advanced Serum and I kept threatening to try it, but KBeauty seems to always win for my PM serum slot. Therefore, I thought my first serious foray into the eye-care realm with the Decorte eye serum would be a good way to see how my skin may like the Liposome Advanced Line since it's supposed to have even more bio-liposomes  than the normal serum, which is their method of delivering the product's goodies into your skin.

Ultimately...it's okay. It's great for providing a burst of temporary hydration, but it is very temporary on me and doesn't last long. And well...being Decorte and at that price, I expected a lot more.

I do love the packaging and how you use the round ball on top of the cap as an applicator, it feels great! I might keep the cap around just for that, but that'd a bit weird too. WNRP

I got it because I love Stratia's Lipid Gold and I was noticing some under eye darkness coming in. I figured it was me losing collagen under the eyes so I didn't really expect it to help with my specific "dark circles", despite hoping otherwise. True to expectations, it hasn't done anything. Some people have said the normal Lipid Gold serum yellows their skin, which never showed up on my skin, but I have noticed it with the eye cream. It creates a nice temporary softening of the darkness under my eyes. So it makes me feel better as I step away from the mirror, which honestly...isn't that all you really need?

I normally hate thick textured creams for my face, but I think my eyes might like it. MRP if my eye area gets more dry, but otherwise not.

Moving Forward

I'm pretty sure the area under my eyes has lost collagen and/or fat and/or my skin has thinned, and neither of these products make some claims that they'd be able to give that area a boost.

AHC has, though 😂 I have a Season 11 and Season 12 ordered. Do I truly expect them to plump up the area to minimize my dark circles? No, I think if I really wanted that, I'd have to look into fillers and I don't have the money, interest, or need for that right now. Realistically, I would just like a decently priced eye cream (which AHC is) that I might be able to use for my entire face for the few times I need to finish my PM routine with a cream because I'm starting to feel like the Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream isn't doing it for my face anymore.

In the meantime, I'm going to be better to be more regular with these two to pan them before the AHCs come. If anything changes with more regular use, I'll definitely come back and update my post.

  1. Thanks for the reviews! I love the race to finish something before the replacement arrives 😂 and I guarantee that those deliveries come quicker than the normal ones (or feel like they do).

I hope you love the AHC, no siliconey feel as far as I can tell. In fact, I was thinking about this very thing last night and how I want a much more siliconey feeling eye cream if I'm going to consider switching to the Sooryehan The Black Exopert Cream.

But I love the AHC so perhaps I can find an AHC variety that's more siliconey 🤷🏻‍♀️

    1. I can't wait to try the AHC! You're definitely a strong influencer of me trying them 😂 I wonder if any of the other seasons would be more or less siliconey? Will definitely let you know!

My TK order still hasn't shipped yet 🥲

    2. I hope you like it and for your sake that it's not siliconey (although hoping for a little siliconey feel for myself lol).

😭 That is sad. My second TK order arrived before the first: so on the one hand, I have the Whoo toner pads but, on the other, no Whoo sunscreen 🤷🏻‍♀️
